Are You Losing the Battle With Your Teeth?

You probably have periodontal disease? The fact is, research proves that up to 30% of the population may be genetically susceptible to gum disease. Despite aggressive oral care habits, these people may be six times more likely to develop periodontal disease. Identifying these people with a genetic test before they even show signs of the disease and getting them into early interventive treatment may help them keep their teeth for a lifetime.  Tooth loss isn't a natural part of aging and teeth are meant to last a lifetime.  Gum disease also leads to other possible problems, including heart and respiratory diseases; preterm, low birthweight babies; stroke; osteoporosis; and diabetes.  Bleeding gums aren't normal and are early signs of gum disease, going to see your Periodontist for an evaluation shouldn't be ignored. Periodontal disease is the number one reason for tooth lose.  Losing your teeth is crippling and forces you to change your eating habits.  Nutrition is important as we get older and want to stay looking younger.  In addition, replacing your lost teeth with dental implants is vital to saving the bone in your jaw that was there to support your lost tooth or teeth.  Dental implants don't get periodontal disease or cavities and are meant to last your lifetime.  Periodontal disease is an unfortunate event but there probably comes a time where you have done all you can to save your teeth, but your still losing the battle.  It's probably more prudent to put your money into getting dental implants than continuing to fight periodontal disease that is now eroding away good bone from the years of constant infections around your teeth.

If you are one of the 30% of the population that is losing the battle with your teeth? Then, it may be time to start looking into dental implants as an replacement for your teeth.  Dental implants are permanent, and they can give you your quality of life back.  Eat the foods you enjoy, eliminate periodontal infections, reduce or eliminate the need for antibiotics, save the remaining bone you have, maintain your youthful look and bring back your confidence.  No more bleeding gums or bad breath from the infections periodontal disease causes.

Ask your local dentist about dental implants as an option to replacing your teeth? It may be time to give up the battle and win the war on healthy teeth with dental implants.

  1. Dental implants are really a great help to people with periodontal problems. But people scared of undergoing such procedures either opt for other operations or worse ignore their teeth entirely. Maybe dentists could ease their patient's fear before proposing a dental implant procedure.
